  34. Not with satellite links. But automated x-fer with verify and restart
  35. on failures? Yep, c-kermit does it over dial-up - LAN - WAN, Kermit/2
  36. does it over dial-up - LAN - WAN, Kermit-95 does it over dial-up -
  37. LAN - WAN ... see where this is going? Powerful scripting language
  38. for you to "roll yer own" scripts. Fantastic terminal emulation (in
  39. the Kermit/2 and Kermit-95 prods).

  41. It's a "don't leave the office without it" tech tool for us as well.
  42. A *temporary* install on a client system with a script to download
  43. updated files off our server over the internet usually has them
  44. asking, "Where can I get a copy of that?", once they realize it's
  45. being deleted when we are done. We found that was easier and less
  46. expensive than burning a new CD-R every time a client needed a
  47. program update (if they're local). For distant clients we get them to
  48. buy a copy of c-kermit, Kermit/2|Kermit-95 and provide them with a
  49. script that allows them to auto-update custom software when they
  50. require changes and the changes are ready on our end.

  52. What else do you need to know before shelling out a measly $64 a
  53. copy? Or less than $64 if you buy in bulk.

  57. Your biggest investment will be the time in writing and debugging
  58. whatever scripts you create. As long as they keep up to date versions
  59. for OS/2 I'll be happy (hear that Jeffrey? ;-).
